Growthpoint’s Paarl Mall to celebrate 21st anniversary with R270m redevelopment

Growthpoint Properties has launched a major redevelopment of Paarl Mall in the Western Cape.

The R270 million upgrade will increase the mall’s gross lettable area (GLA) to 44 474 m², featuring extensive internal redesigns and modernised layouts.

Originally opened in 2005, the small regional centre has maintained **strong trading densities and low vacancy levels**, and the redevelopment is set to coincide with its 21st anniversary.

The project includes reconfiguring part of the large-format retail space to accommodate a broader mix of retailers, including a highly anticipated international fashion brand yet to be announced.

Among the first new additions are Cielo, a contemporary furniture store, and a new Wordsworth outlet. Several existing tenants are also expanding to introduce refreshed concepts, including Truworths, Foschini, @home, Sportscene, and Identity.

The mall’s food court will also be upgraded, offering a wider selection of dining options, including both restaurants and fast-food outlets.

A key feature of the redevelopment is a redesigned layout, highlighted by a new main entrance, and reconfigured internal flow to improve shopper experience.

The upgraded **Paarl Mall is expected to be completed by November 2026.
