Alrode is a thriving industrial node, home to some of the largest industries, such as Steel manufacturing, as well as mining and petroleum suppliers. It is located in Alberton, a city situated on the south of the East Rand, Johannesburg. It was incorporated into the City of Ekurhuleni Metropolitan Municipality in the year 2000 and celebrated its centenary year in 2005.

Alrode is arguably one of the largest industrial areas in Gauteng, with warehouses, factories and distribution facilities throughout.
