Bedfordview is located in western Ekurhuleni. This bustling node attracts a variety of families and investors who tend to call it home for many years. History

Bedfordview was originally a farm under the district of Potchefstroom called Elands Vontyn and later known as Elandsfontein, which belonged to the South African Government and then granted to the Van der Linden family in 1867. During the Second Anglo-Boer War, the British calvary was based in Bedfordview and supposedly planted oak trees along Van Buuren Road.

When the Union of South Africa was formed, in 1912 it propagated that land should be made available for settlement. Eventually in 1916 the first 29 plots were sold.

The name 'Bedfordview' was a result of a competition in 1926, the girl who won stated she liked the view from Bedford Farm (which was where St Andrews currently is). The Bedfordview township was established on 13^th September 1945.

Taxis are widely available with the main taxi rank being at Eastgate Mall. Bedfordview is approximately 12 minutes from OR Tambo international airport via the R24, 16 minutes from the Marlboro Gautrain station via the N3 Eastern Bypass and 17 minutes from Emperor's palace via the N12.

Any goods or services can be attained from the multitude of Retail centres in the area, the biggest and most popular being Eastgate mall and Bedford Centre. Medical institutions would be Life Bedford Gardens Hospital and there are plenty medical suites and aesthetic clinics in the node.
